Introduction to bookkeeping and accrual accounting and the application of accounting principles in legal contexts. Topics include preparation and analysis of financial statements, development of generally accepted accounting principles, responsibilities and potential liabilities of auditors, regulation of dividends and other distributions under state corporations acts, and financial disclosure requirements of the federal securities laws.
