Discussion of climate change, ozone depletion, biodiversity loss, and trade and environment. Examines scientific data; international treaties and protocols; the role of secretariats of the conventions and their compliance or implementation mechanisms; the World Bank and its inspection panel; the role of the U.S. government, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and courts; and using cases and litigation for the solution of global environmental problems. Recommended: course work in the environmental field or international law.
