Business Law Statement of Completion

In order to earn a Business Law Statement of Completion, a student must satisfactorily complete the following courses: Accounting for Lawyers, Business Associations, Advanced Business Law, Commercial Law, Bankruptcy, Federal Tax I, Federal Tax II, and Securities Regulation. In lieu of completing Accounting for Lawyers, a student may demonstrate, to the satisfaction of a faculty committee, competence in the fundamentals of financial and managerial accounting.

In addition to completing the above-referenced curriculum, a candidate for a Business Law Statement of Completion must complete an academic research paper of high professional quality concerning business law. The student must receive advance approval of his or her topic from a faculty member of the Business Law Certification Committee.

Students seeking to study in greater depth the management and internal control of large and small-scale business may want to take courses in the University’s Graduate School of Management, or to pursue the J.D./M.B.A. concurrent degree program.
