Carl Bjerre
Carl S. Bjerre specializes in commercial law, with particular emphasis on secured transactions, sales of receivables, and transactions in investment securities. He earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Cornell and clerked with a federal district judge in New York City, and then practiced law for six years with the international law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen, and Hamilton, also in New York, where his practice centered on corporate and finance transactions. He is an appointed member of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, which is responsible for formulating most of the nations commercial law. He is also a member of a United States delegation to UNIDROIT, also known as the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law, which is negotiating a multi-national Convention on Substantive Rules Regarding Intermediated Securities. |
