Saturday, April 8 from 8 a.m. until 1p.m.
All members of the university community are welcome to participate.

Commons or email.
Join the volunteers for breakfast in the Morse Commons at 8 a.m. Eugene

The organizers of this annual event do more than talk the talk they
are all active volunteers themselves. PIPS publicity chair

previously worked in Washington D.C. for U.S. Congressman Earl
Blumenauer.
The Portland native says "Public Service Day is a great way to get
students out of the library and into the community each spring.
Our hope is to inspire them to continue to seek out volunteer
opportunities throughout the year and to be active members of their
communities beyond graduation."
Ela Orenstein, a member of the PIPS executive board was a lead
organizer of the first public service symposium at the law school
featuring lawyers who have made distinguished careers in public
interest law. After graduation in May, she will return to her home in
Atlanta, Georgia to join the Georgia Center for Law in the Public
Interest as a staff attorney, focusing on environmental justice.
Natalie Duke, a first year law student from Eugene is PIPS Service
Committee Chair. She is interested in bilingual and immigration law and
farmworker advocacy. This year, she has been working with Lane County
