Oregon Law Professor Hari Osofsky Presents "Is Climate Change an 'International'
Legal Problem?" February 26
Oregon Law Professor Hari Osofsky will present, "Is Climate Change an ‘International’
Legal Problem?" during an International Research Forum on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at
4:30 p.m., in the Browsing Room at the Knight Library, 1501 Kincaid
Street in Eugene, Ore. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided and the talk will be followed by a roundtable
discussion.
Professor Osofsky will speak on climate change litigation and ways in which geographic
perspectives on scale could contribute to legal approaches to cross-cutting problems
like climate change. Her scholarship focuses on two overlapping areas: (1) climate change litigation, and (2) law and geography.
Alexander Murphy, Oregon Professor of Geography, will serve as discussant at
the event. Professor Murphy specializes in cultural and political geography with a regional
emphasis on Europe.
The International Research Forum, presented by the International Studies Program, highlights current empirically grounded, theoretically critical research-in-progress
by University of Oregon and external scholars.
