Oregon Law Co-Hosts Lectures on Art and International Cultural Property Law March

Former FBI art crime agent and founder of the FBI Art Crime Team, Lynne Richardson,
will discuss art crime fraud and international cultural property law on Friday,
March 14, at the University of Oregon. Oregon Law and Arts Administration are co-sponsoring the lectures.
The first lecture, held from 9 a.m. to noon, in Lawrence Hall, room 249, will
focus on illicit trafficking in art and cultural property, including theft of
individual works of art, fraud, pillaging of archaeological sites and illegal
export of objects protected by international laws.
The second lecture, held from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Knight Law Center, room 142,
will discuss U.S. and international cultural property law, including the Native
American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), Advanced Research Projects
Agency (ARPA), United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization
(UNESCO) convention, Theft of Major Artwork Statute and the National Stolen Art
File.
