Monday, October 18 ELECTION FORUM: Measures 34 and 37
6:30 P.M.- 8:00 P.M., Room 110. Speakers from the Eugene City Council, the American
Planning Association, and the Tillamook 50/50 plan will discuss two upcoming measures
on the November ballot one requires balancing preservation and timber production
in managing state forests and the other requires local governments to compensate
property owners for certain losses caused by land use restrictions. Sponsored

Wednesday, October 20 PANEL: Marriage Equality
5:30 P.M., Room 175. Law professor Dom Vetri and Oregon ACLU director Dave Fidanque
are among the panelists speaking on Marriage Equality: Oregon Law and Beyond.
They will discuss Measure 36 and its impact on the pending ACLU case in support
of same-sex marriage as well as the differences between marriage and other kinds

4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M., Room 175. The landmark 1954 decision ended legal racial
segregation in U.S. schools forever or did it? A free public forum on "Unfinished
Legacy: Brown v. Board of Education at Fifty" features Ray Diamond, Tulane university
professor, attorney and race relations expert. He is coauthor of Brown v. Board
of Education: Caste, Culture and Constitution. Law faculty members Greg Vincent
and Robert Tsai and UO philosophy professor Naomi Zack will also present, and
